St. Nicholas Catholic School Council members are excited to offer a parent workshop for interested parents on October 13th 2016, from 7 to 8:15 p.m. This evening presentation will provide parents with information and an opportunity to engage in dialogue to share their experiences in parenting their stressed and/or worried child.
Topics include: Anxiety in children and Building Resilience in Children.
Workshop goals include: Understanding the difference between fear and anxiety; how to recognize the signs and symptoms of anxiety; coping strategies to assist their children in dealing with fears, struggles and worries; how to support your children through the difficult situations.
The goal of the evening is to support parents in understanding how to respond to their children in helping them cope and manage their feelings of distress and to foster student success and well-being in themselves, school and family life. We hope to see you on October 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the library.
