Weekly Update: November 28 to December 2, 2022

Happy New Year!  Today our Church begins a new liturgical year on the First Sunday of Advent.

During this first week of Advent, we light the first purple candle on the Advent wreath.  This is the “hope” candle.  The light of this candle reminds us of the coming of Jesus, the light of our world, who brings us hope. The candle also reminds us that we can be sources of hope for others.

Lord Jesus,

You are the hope in our world.

This Advent, help us slow down, listen to your voice,

and focus on what’s really important.

We place our hope in you

as we prepare our hearts to celebrate

your birth on Christmas.

Amen.

Kiss and Ride

As we continue to prioritize the safety of all students, parents and guardians are reminded of a few very important guidelines for using our Kiss and Ride on the east side of the school:

– Please do not stop nor park where buses drop off students, that is the curb beside the daycare and eastside school entrance.

– Do not park in the 8 parking spots in the Kiss and Ride loop as these belong to the Magic Balloon Daycare.  If you wish to park your vehicle, please use the westside parking lot or the street, following street signage and obeying parking bylaws.

– Please pull in between the yellow marked lines on the right side only (not left inner side) and parallel to the curb to drop off your child(ren), then pull out safely as this will keep the Kiss N’ Ride moving smoothly. Please do not park and leave your vehicle in the Kiss N’ Ride as this is a fire route.

Parents and guardians are asked to please adhere to these guidelines.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Let us conclude with an Advent prayer:

God of Love,

Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us.

He is a sign of your love.

Help us walk in that love during the weeks of Advent,

As we wait and prepare for his coming.

We pray in the name of Jesus, our Saviour.

Amen.

St. Nicholas, pray for us.

Wishing you a joyful week.

Sincerely,

C. Quadrini, Principal
