Weekly Update

Virtue of the Month

This month we recognize the virtue of courage. To show courage means to stand up for what is right, facing your fears and challenges and your difficulties. Courage is about reaching your potential and not giving up. As we continue to celebrate the Catholic virtues, we will be reflecting on ‘courage’ this month. At the end of every month, students from each class will be awarded a Virtue Certificate for demonstrating and living out that virtue throughout the month. By doing this we show that as a community we always strive to respond to Jesus’ call in our everyday interactions with one another.

PA Day/Faith Day

This Friday is a PA day for the students while the SNS staff will engage in prayer and reflection at our Parish St. John Chrysostom. Our Faith Day on Friday will explore the theme Catholic Education: We Are Called to Love. This theme is aligned with the Catholic Education Week 2024 Theme set out by the Ontario Catholic Schools Trustee Association.  At YCDSB, our exploration of Faith Day will focus on this theme as a celebration of Catholic Education and the joyous reminder of our Christian call to love.

 Safety

We prioritize the safety of our students and staff at St. Nicholas. Last week we conducted a successful fire drill to ensure everyone is well-prepared in case of an emergency.

Additionally, we’ve enhanced safety in our “Kiss ‘n Ride” area by implementing newly painted pavement markings.  These updates will help streamline traffic flow during drop-off and pick-up times, ensuring a safe and efficient experience for all. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community secure and well-organized.
