On March 21, 2024 the York Catholic District School Board celebrated the third annual board-wide Lenten Mass of Renewal and Reconciliation. Today is the beginning of the Lunar New Year 2023, beginning the Year of the Rabbit. The Lunar New Year as a celebration is observed by numerous cultures, and is also often referred to as “Chinese New Year” because it is a traditional festival in China. This festival means the beginning of spring and the arrival of the new year.
Today is the third Sunday of Advent. We light the pink coloured candle which symbolizes joy. We find joy in knowing that soon it will be Christmas, a time for celebration and a time to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.
