Weekly Update: April 24-28, 2023

This month we continue to celebrate the virtues of reverence and respect. Let us reflect on this prayer focused on these virtues:

God our Creator,

In good times,
may we live in such a way that we will be strengthened
for the difficult times that all of us face in our lives.
Lead us now to make choices that show respect
and kindness to one another,
treasuring all that is lasting and important.
May we grow in faith that whatever our circumstances,
we need have no regrets but may entrust
our past to Your mercy,
our present to Your love,
and our future to Your care.

Amen.

Dressing for the Weather

The consistency of the warmer weather will soon be upon us. In anticipation of the heat, parents and guardians are invited to assist and support students in dressing for the weather.

As reflected in the YCDSB’s Elementary Student Dress Code, student attire must be in keeping with our Catholic teachings and beliefs, and reflect the value of modesty and the principle of the dignity of the human person.

To assist in managing the heat, students should wear loose clothing and summer hats. Garments are to have solid fabric, and upper garments are to cover the midriff and shoulders.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to the upcoming beautiful sunny weather!

Catholic Education Week

We look forward to celebrating Catholic Education Week (CEW) and Children’s Mental Health Week from May 1st to 5th, 2023.

The theme of CEW is, ‘We are Many, We are One’. St. Nicholas CES will open this week with Music Monday! In addition, we will be hosting several student sessions presented by guest speakers focused on this year’s theme, and skill building in support of mental health. Students will also engage in classroom and school-based activities. More information will be shared in our next weekly update.
