Today is the fourth Sunday of Advent. The purple candle for this week is called the “peace” candle. The light of this candle reminds us of the peace that comes to our hearts through Jesus.
God of love,
May we use the gifts of the Spirit of God to help bring about
the reign of peace and understanding in our world.
May the Spirit of peace and hope
be with us during this Advent season.

Kiss and Ride
As we continue to prioritize the safety of all students, parents and guardians are reminded to please adhere to the guidelines (see map below) for using our Kiss and Ride on the east side of the school.

Candy Grams
We are thrilled to announce that St. Nicholas CES’ Candy Grams initiative in support of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Program raised $1600! This money will assist many, many families this Christmas season. It is with tremendous gratitude that we thank you for giving so generously to support our neighbours in need at this time of year.
Candy Grams, packaged in individual student envelopes (to be taken home), will be delivered to classes on Tuesday, December 20th.

Kindergarten Registration
Do you have a child or know someone who has a child who is eligible to register for Kindergarten this coming fall? If yes, please note that 2022-2023 Kindergarten registration at the York Catholic District School Board will open on January 9th, 2023.

Along with our theme days throughout the week, students will participate in a number of activities, including Christmas BINGO, Name That Christmas Tune!, Christmas caroling, class selfies with Santa, and a Christmas movie!
Monday, December 19th:
– Primary (JK to Grade 3) Christmas Concert Rehearsal in gym, 1:00pm; for students and staff
Tuesday, December 20th:
– Primary (JK to Grade 3) Christmas Concert in gym, 1:00pm; for families
Wednesday, December 21st:
– Grade 8 students visit Sacred Heart CHS, morning
Friday, December 23rd:
– Christmas Movie; cookies* and juice* provided to all students
